Cruisin to Jamaica

Bout to get my vacation on headed to Miami, Ocho Rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands and to Atlanta. Tell me that ain't ballin!! God is good, cause given the economic situations, I'm glad me and wifey is able to do this. Oh yeah, the cruise is actually a family reunion! Yeah, Sutton Moton and Drew, 3 families doing it as 1.

Being that I am a huge baseball fan, I picked this book up on the humbug, at the public library. After perusing it for a few seconds, i saw that the author, Kirk Radomski, was actually a New York Met clubhouse attendant and that he was "deep" in the game.

After reading, Notorious C.O.P., I dove into Bases Loaded. It was a very good read, that gave me insight into the New York Mets in the mid 1980's as well as into some of my favorite players at the time (Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden).

Kirk, lays out how he began working out, and the fact that at that time, most Major Leaguers did not. In fact there was no work out equipment and the like available to players at the stadium. So as Kirk started to become a successful body builder, he began fielding questions from ball players who wanted him to prescribe workout routines and supplements, etc. His first client was Lenny Dykstra, which eventually would lead to him supplying steroids and Human Growth Hormone (HGH).

The book gives you great insight, on how MLB players and minor leaguers began taking steroids, and HGH.

Ultimately, Kirk paid a huge price, becoming a government witness to reduce his own time. However, he felt that the people that he gave up, where ones, that already had done the same to him.

If you are interested in a real quick read on MLB and the history of Steroids and HGH, I recommend this book.

Congratulations to the First Lady, Michelle Obama, for making the cover of Time Magazine.

This is an historical moment that showcases the beauty and depth that black women have represented forever.

Her face symbolizes the strength, dedication, and faithfulness that our mothers have instilled in us; to survive, achieve and contribute to our communities and society.

The way that she carries herself, shows that she is the same today, as she was yesterday. President Obama would not be where he is at now, without her support and love.

I think we are all better now, that we have an image of a strong woman who is well educated, but stands behind her man. May the Lord continue to bless her and our country. Amen!

Eminem's Back

Bought the CD! Eminem is still able to deliver the craziest concepts ever!

When they say the music industry is not selling CD's, they won't be able to say that about certain artists.

You know I had to go to Target, my favorite place to buy CD's, especially at 9.99 LOL!!

The packaging is ingenious, and well thought out. The first track includes a guest appearance from Dominic West who plays McNulty on one of my favorite TV shows of all time, The Wire (HBO).

Dr. Dre sounds like he was having a good time in the studio with his boy. Maybe, this will spark him to put out his Detox album.

Now, I better listen to this CD and get ready to hand it over to my wife, who is a big Eminem fan!

I think this CD is gonna be a smash!!!

This is one of the last three books that I have read. I bought this book at Dulles Airport, while on a flight back from Washington, D.C. .

This book was written by David Mendell who is a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, as he followed Barack through his first Senate Campaigns. He does a good job in giving you insight as to who Barack is and what drives him. Clearly you understand and see how important Michelle is to his development and his efforts to eventually succeed in his political career.

I recommend this book.

Beno's Pick for 2009 NBA MVP

There is no doubt that this is still the best player in the NBA today. I am not taking anything from Lebron, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Shaq, and everybody else, but there is no one who takes a fade away jumper better! LOL. Kobe has stepped his game up and made the Lakers better all around and plus he continues to dominate and take control when the game is on the line.

For 2009, I just do not see this trophy going to anyone else.

Too Cold!!!!

I found these photos of a step show Iota Psi Lambda and Sigma Tau (Terror Squad) of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. did last March. We won!

We practiced for two months and tore the show down that night. A PHI!!!! 06!!! Brotha lost weight and started to get in better shape after all that work. lol
